About
Each image is the shadow of a lost moment, delicately, preserved, not for evoking grief at its loss, but for nurturing lasting wonder at its ever having existed. More than joy, I strive for images that nurture understanding and empathy through the shared experience of viewing.

My artistic journey in photography began when I was 15 years old, many years and dreams ago, and continued through the years with sojourns for love of family and duty to country and profession. My formal training came first as a newspaper photographer for the Bristow News and Record Citizen, then as a journalism major at the University of Oklahoma (BA Journalism 1970) and, further, continuing education in fine arts drawing and painting, over the years.

I feel my images are a legacy for the future for both subject and artist, a touch of immortality indelibly printed on the reality of paper and in the abstract in the mind and heart of subject and viewer.
